Enfield & The Barnets UNA - About Us The Enfield & The Barnets UNA is concerned with developing debate locally about the global issues that affect all our lives. Central to that debate is the role of our local Members of Parliament. So we have developed MP Watch so that we can question and discuss with our local MPs these issues online as an experiment in e-democracy. By taking politics into the digital age then we can link local, national and global issues effectively. Regular meetingsWe meet regularly every month to plan our programme and discuss progress. We also hold a day time coffee discussion twice a month on friday mornings. The idea is to plan a series of activities that engage others in our local community. UNA Book GroupWe have formed a Book group centred around the UNA. This meets every other month and a Book is chosen that covers an area of global and social concern. Members and non members are welcome to join in with our discussions. Other activitiesWe try to engage with the wider community but holding public meetings and discussion with your local MPs, a number of hustings at election times. We also have been instrumental in forming a local Civil Society forum to involve the wider community in the impact of global issues on local concerns. Back to top |
