Though we are a non-partisan group it is difficult to find positives for our MP. Former Shell employee Liz Truss has a track with the Institute of Economic Affairs, a climate-denying think tank that sponsored her disastrous spell as prime minister. She has had advisors from a number of other far right ideological bodies such as the Free Market Forum, who call for further airport expansion, the Centre for Policy Studies, the Adam Smith Institute and the TaxPayers’ Alliance. Her chief economic advisor wrote the book “Let Them Eat Carbon”, which argued against climate action. It is no surprise that she was instrumental in cutting subsidies to wind farms.
