OUR MP
As a previous employee of Costain Gas and current member the Net Zero Scrutiny Group, it is no surprise that Mark Jenkinson opposes pretty much any measure that will help us reach net zero: he supports new coal mining, fracking, new oil licences and road expansion. He claims to be a member of the Conservative Environment Network but revels in demonising and trolling anyone who voices their fears for the future. He has said the public enquiry into the proposed Whitehaven coal mine was “the government bowing to climate terrorists”, and providing aid to countries suffering climate breakdown, was “virtue signalling”.

We're a loose and small group that focuses on social media (in particular our Twitter account), and forming relationships with other environmental and climate groups in the Cumbria area. We have met and exchanged letters with Mark Jenkinson in the past, but any kind of constructive engagement is near impossible. We focus a lot on the new Cumbria Coal Mine with it being a hot topic in the area. We are looking to build our relationships in order to influence a climate strategy for Cumbrian seats at the next General Election. Please get in touch if you'd want to be involved with any of this!
