OUR MP
Steve Baker undoubtedly has remarkable political skills and energy. He is also a devout Christian.
Unfortunately, in our view, he deploys these skills in the wrong areas including when in 2021, he joined the Global Warming Policy Foundation having campaigned in 2019 for the Conservative manifesto that included promises on net zero. He never explained why he had become a climate denier in the face of all scientific evidence.
Steve Baker has been our MP in Wycombe since 2010. The self-styled 'hard man of Brexit' is credited with seeing off Theresa May's softer Brexit as part of the hard right ERG group. Even back then, he was out of line with his constituency, which voted narrowly to remain in Europe. He also supported Suella Braverman for leader. Recently he was made Minister of State for Northern Ireland.
